In active response to the national "Belt and Road" initiative and to cultivate overseas talent in water resources and hydropower while supporting Chinese enterprises in "going global," the school, in collaboration with Huadian Cambodia Co., Ltd. (a subsidiary of China Huadian Corporation overseeing the Stung Russey Chrum Krom hydropower project in Cambodia), successfully held the online opening ceremony for the 2024 "Chinese + Hydropower Vocational Skills" training program on July 11.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy President Zhou Tao, Chairman and General Manager Zhu Xinyuan, and Executive Director Ding Guoxing of Huadian Cambodia Co., Ltd. The event was hosted by Li Changni, Director of the Foreign Exchange Center.
In his opening remarks, Deputy President Zhou Tao extended a warm welcome to the attendees and expressed sincere gratitude to Huadian Cambodia Co., Ltd. for its long-standing support for the school's development. He emphasized that the school is committed to providing high-quality international talent cultivation and technical collaboration to support Chinese enterprises in "going global." By aligning education with industry needs and fostering industry-education integration, the school aims to co-create innovative productivity and share development achievements. He highlighted the school's efforts to contribute to sustainable development in ASEAN through hydropower standards, design, and technical services, while providing talent and technical support for enterprises.
Chairman Zhu Xinyuan stated that the "Chinese + Hydropower Vocational Skills" training program is a significant initiative to deepen school-enterprise cooperation and jointly cultivate high-quality skilled talent. He emphasized that the program will not only enhance the Chinese language proficiency and vocational skills of Cambodian employees, improving their overall competitiveness, but also further promote cultural exchanges between China and Cambodia. This initiative will contribute to the "going global" strategy of Chinese enterprises and the cultivation of local talent in Cambodia.
The "Chinese + Hydropower Vocational Skills" training program represents a meaningful exploration by the school in advancing the construction of the China-Cambodia Institute of Modern Craftsmanship of Green Energy and serving the national "Belt and Road" initiative. It also marks an important step in building a distinctive international brand for hydropower vocational education and further enhancing the school's global influence.
Representatives from relevant secondary schools of the institution and Cambodian employees of Huadian Cambodia Co., Ltd. also attended the ceremony.
