Exploring Talent Cultivation Pathways and Collaborating on Vocational Education: Delegation from Yeungnam University in Korea Visits for Exchange

On June 25th, a four-member delegation from Yeungnam University's International College, led by its President Kwon Yong-hyeon, visited the university for an exchange. Deputy President Liu Cunxiang attended the symposium, which was hosted by Director Li Changni of the Foreign Exchange Center.

Liu Cunxiang first extended a warm welcome to the delegation from Yeungnam University's International College and introduced the university's development history, distinctive majors, discipline construction, overseas base construction, and Sino-foreign cooperative education programs. He expressed that while actively exploring cooperation opportunities with ASEAN countries, the university also hopes to establish new cooperative relationships with institutions such as Yeungnam University, broaden the depth and breadth of its internationalization projects, explore effective talent cultivation models, and jointly enhance the educational quality and internationalization level of both universities.

Kwon Yong-hyeon, President of Yeungnam University's International College, thanked the college for its warm reception and introduced the school's development, distinctive majors, international cooperation, and student cultivation models. He noted that the two institutions have a high degree of matching in majors such as electrical engineering and automotive engineering. He hopes to leverage the good start of this cooperation and exchange to launch short-term study programs and exchange programs for engineering students, jointly promoting the common development of both universities in the field of vocational education.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the Tea Art Training Room of the School of Economics and Management to watch a traditional Chinese tea art performance presented by teachers and students, experiencing the unique charm of traditional tea culture. This exchange activity promoted cultural exchange and understanding between the two institutions in China and South Korea, laying a solid foundation for cooperation in vocational education between the two parties.

Lyu Changlan, Deputy Director of the External Exchange and Cooperation Division of the Guangxi Foreign Affairs Office, Tang Shande, Deputy Director of the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Wang Xiaodi, Deputy Dean of the School of Economics and Management, and relevant teachers participated in the event.
