From June 3rd to 10th, a delegation led by Deputy President Zhou Tao embarked on an eight-day official visit to Cambodia and Thailand, aiming to actively implement the "Belt and Road" initiative, create an open and innovative hub for vocational education cooperation towards ASEAN, conduct the acceptance inspection for Phase I of the China-Cambodia Institute of Modern Craftsmanship of Green Energy, and facilitate negotiations for Phase II cooperation.
In Thailand, the delegation visited Srinakharinwirot University, the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), and Mahasarakham University. Thai institutions introduced their basic situations and development achievements in recent years, expressing their desires to further strengthen cooperation in teacher education, academic exchanges, and research collaboration. During the symposium with Mahasarakham University, both sides reviewed their cooperation history, enhanced mutual understanding, and conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on teacher training and multidisciplinary cooperation.
In Cambodia, the delegation first visited the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport, receiving a warm welcome from Deputy Secretary of State Pusamin. Pusamin highly praised the cooperation achievements between our university and Cambodian enterprises, expressing his hope for continued in-depth cooperation in curriculum development, program construction, teacher training in water conservancy and electricity, and student humanistic exchanges around water conservancy and electricity projects.
Subsequently, the delegation visited Prek Leap National Institute of Agriculture. They were warmly received by Cambodian Ministry of Education officials, the vice president heads of functional departments, and heads of secondary schools. The delegation toured the campus, conducted an acceptance inspection for Phase I of the Modern Craftsmanship Institute project, and inspected the construction of teaching buildings and training fields. Following the visit, both sides held a symposium to review their friendly exchanges in recent years and conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as the construction of the China-Cambodia Institute of Modern Craftsmanship of Green Energy, talent cultivation for Cambodian students in China, cooperative education, and academic exchanges.
The delegation also visited China Huadian Corporation (Cambodia) Power Generation and Operation Co., Ltd., deepening the exchange and cooperation between the university and Huadian through bilateral discussions. In the next step, we will continue to collaborate with enterprises in their "going-out" strategy, providing robust talent and technical support for the transformation, upgrading, and high-quality development of Huadian's Cambodian operations.
Through this visit, we completed the acceptance inspection for Phase I of the China-Cambodia Institute of Modern Craftsmanship of Green Energy and initiated Phase II construction. In the future, our university will actively leverage its educational advantages, relying on the China-Cambodia Institute of Modern Craftsmanship of Green Energy, to expand the depth and breadth of cooperation, cultivate more and better international talents for international education, contribute to Cambodia's local economic and social development, disseminate Chinese culture, and contribute Guangxi's vocational education strength to the field.
