From October 31 to November 2, 2024, the 25th China International Education Annual Conference and Exhibition was held in Beijing. Hosted by the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), this year's conference was themed "Education: For Everyone, For the Unknown, For the Future," with France serving as the guest of honor. Over 5,000 educators, diplomatic officials, and business representatives from more than 60 countries and regions worldwide attended the event. Wei Yin, Secretary of the Party Branch of the General Education School, and teachers Li Dongying and Zhang Yuqi from the Foreign Exchange Center of our school participated in the conference and exhibition.
On the morning of October 31, Ding Zhongli, Vice President of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, President of the China National Democratic League, and President of the Western Returned Scholars Association (China Overseas Students Association), attended the conference and delivered an opening speech. Huai Jinpeng, Minister of Education, delivered a video address. Liu Limin, President of the CEAIE, presided over the opening ceremony. Ding Zhongli emphasized that China will further promote high-level opening-up in education, adhering to the combination of "bringing in" and "going out," encouraging students to study abroad, attracting outstanding overseas talents to study and exchange in China, further expanding academic exchanges and scientific research cooperation, promoting international collaborative innovation, deepening cooperation with international organizations and multilateral mechanisms, and contributing more Chinese strength to the development of global education. Huai Jinpeng stated that China has always adhered to the opening-up of education and actively shared quality educational resources with the world. To promote sustainable development worldwide and adapt to global changes, it is necessary to empower individuals, reshape society, and lead the future through education. He proposed to promote inclusive and shared resources on a larger scale, academic research and international cooperation with higher quality, and deeper humanistic exchanges.
At the conference, representatives from our college participated in plenary sessions, sub-forums on topics such as reshaping and upgrading, diversified development - dialogues on international student education in China facing the future, high-quality development forums on the entire chain of enrollment, cultivation, and employment in Sino-foreign cooperative education, cultivating local talents, digitally reshaping new forms of vocational education: Sino-British cooperation in nurturing future talents, and discussions centered around international student education in China, education digitalization, Sino-foreign cooperative education, and overseas education. The seminars provided valuable references for the international management and implementation of vocational colleges in terms of improving the quality of talent cultivation in Sino-foreign cooperative education, enhancing services for international students, and strengthening the quality assurance of cross-border education.
During the exhibition at the Beijing stop of the China International Education Exhibition, the International Exchange Center of our school actively negotiated with universities from countries such as the Conférence des Grandes Écoles (CGE), the University of Waikato in New Zealand, and the Universitat Politècnica de València in Spain, establishing partnerships to lay the foundation for further exchanges and cooperation.
Looking ahead, we will continue to focus on the "Double High" construction goals, comprehensively promote key work including international student education in China, Sino-foreign cooperative education, and international exchange and cooperation, striving to further enhance students' international vision and expand our influence in the field of international education. We look forward to in-depth cooperation with universities around the world, jointly promoting the internationalization of vocational education, and making positive contributions to cultivating talents with international competitiveness and serving national development strategies.
