College Leaders Visit Mahasarakham University in Thailand

From December 12th to 15th, a delegation led by Deputy President Liu Cunxiang embarked on a four-day exchange visit to Mahasarakham University in Thailand, aiming to deepen educational openness and cooperation with friendly institutions in ASEAN countries in the new era.

During the visit, the delegation was warmly received by leaders from Mahasarakham University, including Dr. Pondej Chaowarat, Vice President for Public Relations and International Affairs; Dr. Chonlatee Photong, Deputy Dean of the Graduate School; Dr. Sarintree Udchachan, Assistant to the President for Public Relations and International Image; Dr. Keartisak Sriprateep, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; and Dr. Surachai Wongcharee, Deputy Dean for International Relations of the Faculty of Engineering. Both sides introduced the basic situations of their respective universities and conducted in-depth negotiations on cooperation in areas such as student training, teacher exchange, overseas study education, and short-term teacher-student research and exchange programs. They reached a consensus on the specific modes of cooperation and working mechanisms for advancing cooperation in the next step. Both sides signed a letter of intent for cooperation, agreeing to conduct comprehensive cooperation in areas such as joint student training, teacher exchange, collaborative research, and co-construction of internship platforms. Mahasarakham University expressed a strong desire for long-term cooperation with our university in the future, hoping to deepen cooperation in talent training, skills training, and teacher exchange, and to explore cooperation content for projects such as the "2+2" or "3+1" programs. During the visit, the delegation also toured the Mahasarakham University Business School and Faculty of Engineering, and held talks with key leaders and teachers from both schools.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the proposal of the "Belt and Road" initiative, and this visit is a concrete action by our university in actively responding to the "Belt and Road" initiative. Mahasarakham University, which was visited this time, is a renowned institution of higher learning in Asia, ranking among the top in Asia in terms of faculty strength and research level. Graduates from this university are highly recognized by local enterprises. This visit has effectively enhanced the breadth and depth of our university's external exchanges and cooperation, and injected new vitality into the development of our university's internationalization endeavors.

It is reported that Mahasarakham University is a public university in Thailand, founded in 1994, located in Mahasarakham Province in northeastern Thailand. The university offers higher education at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels, with 19 faculties and more than 170 majors, serving over 45,000 students from Thailand and other countries.
