On the morning of October 20, the 2023 opening ceremony for international students was held at the Changganng campus. Dean Yu Jinfeng of the School of Hydraulic Engineering, Dean Zuo Jianglin of the School of Electric Power Engineering, as well as all teachers from the Foreign Exchange Center, international student counselors, and all international students attended the ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Director Li Changni of the Foreign Exchange Center.
The leader extended a warm welcome to all the 2023 international students who have come to study at the college. He briefly introduced the school's history, educational philosophy, and resource advantages to the students and put forward three expectations and requirements for them. Firstly, we hope that the students would follow local customs, strictly abide by China's laws and regulations as well as the school's rules and regulations, and become disciplined and civilized international students. Secondly, we hope that the students would quickly adapt to the new learning and living environment, earnestly study and understand Chinese culture, make many friends, strengthen friendly exchanges with Chinese students, and become ambassadors of cultural exchange. Thirdly, we hope that the students would fully utilize the favorable learning conditions, study hard, strive to achieve academic success, continuously improve their moral cultivation, and become young students and global citizens full of positive energy.
Professor Wei Yin, representing the teachers, expressed that the teachers would help the international students pursue a higher level of knowledge and master more skills. He hoped that the international students would cherish their learning opportunities, explore their potential, utilize various resources to enhance their comprehensive abilities, further understand China and the school, and become ambassadors for cultural and friendship exchanges.
Chen Mingzhu, a representative of the international students from Cambodia, expressed her determination to study Chinese language and culture as well as professional knowledge diligently. She also expressed her great love for the school and the enthusiastic teachers and students here, and her intention to take the technical knowledge she learns back to her homeland to contribute to its development.
This year marks the first year of international student recruitment at our college. The fact that international students have applied to study here fully demonstrates their recognition of our overall teaching level, training facilities, and living environment, and also adds strong momentum to the in-depth development of our foreign exchange work.
The international students participating in the ceremony were the first batch of students recruited by the college, and the second batch of supplementary international students will arrive in the near future.
