On the morning of December 8th, a certification ceremony for the "Laos National Vocational Standards Joint Project" was successfully held in the conference room of the Foreign Exchange Center at Changgang campus. This certification not only showcases the college's active efforts in int ernational vocational education cooperation but also strengthens cooperation between China and Laos in the field of vocational education. Attendees included college leaders and teachers such as Luo Xianke, Secretary of the Party Committee, Liu Cunxiang, Deputy President, Li Changni, Director of the Foreign Exchange Center, Ban Lanmei, Secretary of the Party Branch of the School of Hydraulic Engineering, and Li Xiaolian, Deputy Dean of the School of Hydraulic Engineering.
Dr. Benson Hamonti, Director of the Vocational Education Development Research Institute of the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports, delivered a video address at the ceremony, highly praising the successful cooperation between China and Laos in vocational education and training. He emphasized the significant contributions made by Chinese workers, like those at our college, to the development of vocational education in Laos and expressed his hope for deeper cooperation in the future.
Secretary Luo Xianke gave a speech on behalf of the college, detailing the college's development since its establishment in 1956, its role in promoting water conservancy and electric power development in ethnic border areas, and its commitment to cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents. Secretary Luo specifically highlighted the college's cooperation achievements with ASEAN countries in response to the "Belt and Road" initiative and mentioned that two standards formulated by a special standard research and development team established by the college for Laos have been officially certified by the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports, incorporated into Laos' national vocational education system, and promoted for use, reflecting the college's important role in international cooperation.
Subsequently, Zhao Xiaohua, Deputy General Manager of Wuhan Central Foreign Economic and Technical Cooperation Group Co., Ltd., on behalf of the Vocational Education Development Research Institute of the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports, presented the college with a certification for the "Laos National Vocational Standards Joint Project."
We adhere to the principle of opening up to the outside world and actively expands international exchanges and cooperation. This event is a concrete practice of the college's response to the national "Belt and Road" initiative, deepening cooperation and exchanges with international institutions in the field of vocational education. We will take this cooperation as an opportunity to further strengthen cooperative education with international institutions, promote the process of internationalization, and contribute to cultivating more technical and skilled talents with an international perspective.
