On October 26, the College Successfully Held the 2024 "Hongyan Project" Special Training on International Exchange and Cooperation. Stelios Yalarakis, Director of International Relations and Admissions at Cheshire College, South & West in the UK, delivered a lecture to the training participants. Pan Nianping, the College's Chief Accountant, attended the opening ceremony. The event was hosted by Li Changni, Director of the Foreign Exchange Center.
At the opening ceremony, Pan Nianping delivered a speech. She first extended a sincere welcome to Stelios Yalarakis and his delegation fromCheshire College, South & West and stated that the event aimed to broaden teachers' international horizons, enhance their international teaching capabilities, and build an international faculty team. She hoped that all teachers would raise their awareness, engage in deep thinking, apply what they had learned, and make positive contributions to the internationalization of education and teaching at the college. During the ceremony, Pan Nianping presented a foreign affairs gift to Stelios Yalarakis.
During the lecture, Stelios Yalarakis introduced the overview of Cheshire College, South & West and conducted in-depth and accessible teaching on topics such as how to cultivate outstanding students, how to exercise students' independent thinking, and how teachers can effectively ask questions and improve classroom teaching skills. He used numerous examples and combined the different teaching practices of China and the UK to share experiences and approaches with the teachers on site, engaging in active exchanges and interactions with them.
The "Hongyan Project" is one of the key projects for faculty development in the college's "14th Five-Year Plan" and the new round of "Double High" construction. It is an important measure for the college to cultivate faculty members at different levels. This training has provided strong support for the college to continuously innovate paths for building an international faculty team and establish a high-quality, high-level international faculty team, contributing to the high-quality development of internationalization in vocational education.
