On the morning of October 21, the opening ceremony for the 2024 international students was held at the Changgang campus of our college. Deputy President Liu Cunxiang attended the ceremony, which was hosted by Director Li Changni of the Foreign Exchange Center.
Liu Cunxiang extended a warm welcome to all the 2024 international students who had come to study at our college and briefly introduced the college's history, educational philosophy, and resource advantages. He put forward three expectations and requirements for the students: first, to follow local customs and strictly abide by China's laws and regulations as well as the college's rules and regulations, being disciplined and civilized international students; second, to adapt to the new learning and living environment as soon as possible, study and understand Chinese culture, make many friends, strengthen friendly exchanges with Chinese students, and become ambassadors of cultural exchange; third, to make full use of favorable learning conditions, study hard, strive to achieve academic success, continuously improve their moral cultivation, and become young students and global citizens full of positive energy.
Teacher representative Wang Lan expressed that the teachers would help the international students pursue higher levels of knowledge and acquire more skills. She encouraged everyone to cherish the learning opportunities, explore their potential, and utilize various resources to enhance their comprehensive abilities, further understand China and the college, and become ambassadors of cultural dissemination and friendship.
Fan Guangming, a representative of international students from Vietnam, expressed his determination to diligently study the Chinese language and culture, as well as professional knowledge. He was deeply grateful for the valuable learning opportunity provided by the college and pledged to cherish his time as an international student, strive to realize his dreams, and bring the skills he learned back to his home country to contribute to its development and strengthen the friendship between China and Vietnam.
Our college has always been committed to enhancing its internationalization level, attaching great importance to international education cooperation and exchanges, actively responding to relevant national and regional policies on opening up, and strengthening educational cooperation and exchanges with other countries. We hope that the international students will gain strength for growth at Guangxi Hydropower Vocational and Technical College, encounter a better version of themselves, and contribute their wisdom and strength to building a community with a shared future for mankind.
Also attending the opening ceremony were Yu Jinfeng, Secretary of the Party Branch of the Hydraulic Engineering School, Zuo Jianglin, Dean of the Electric Power Engineering School, Ning Aimin, Dean of the Information Engineering School, Wang Xiaodi, Deputy Dean of the Economic Management School, Wei Yin, Secretary of the Party Branch of the General Education School, as well as all teachers from the Foreign Exchange Center, international student counselors, and all international students.
